Question:
What exactly is the size of a chickpea? Indian ones are small and Canadian ones are large
In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
We find reference made to a chickpea for when one is in Salah and has food to the amount of a chickpea stuck between their teeth. To swallow this while in Salah will not invalidate the Salah as such a small amount is overlooked. [Marāqy al-Falāh: pg. 123] [1]
There is no specific clarification in regard to the size of a chickpea. Thus, applying the usage of either would be acceptable.
Only Allāh Ta’ālā knows best.
