Question:

Is it permissible to do a gynaecology exam while fasting?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

There are three things that invalidate fasts:

• Eating
• Drinking
• Sexual intercourse

Doing a gynaecology exam whilst fasting will not invalidate fasting as it does not fall under any of these categories. [Radd ul Mukhtar, volume 3, page 365, Daar al Kutub al Ilmiyyah]
