Question:

If I eat haram food  and when swallowing it, it comes in contact with the phlegm in my mouth. Would the phlegm be impure even after swallowing?  The phlegm still remains in my throat and usually this phlegm can be felt in the passage of my nose and is wet. So is the inside of my nose impure too?

I am not sure if this is waswasa?

Answer:

For the saliva and phlegm to become pure after coming in contact with impurity it has to be washed out. If the person swallows the impure saliva several times, his mouth will become pure then also. Please see the text below for details.

“The leftover (residual) water from a human being is pure. This includes the junub (person in a state of major ritual impurity), the menstruating woman, the postnatal woman, and the disbeliever, except for the leftover of a wine drinker and someone whose mouth is bleeding if they drink immediately after the bleeding. In such cases, it is impure. However, if they swallow their saliva several times, then according to the correct opinion, their mouth becomes pure. This is mentioned in Al-Siraj Al-Wahhaj. If the wine drinker is someone who drinks frequently, then the water becomes impure even if they drink after some time. This is mentioned in Al-Tatarkhaniyyah, quoting from Al-Hujjah.” – [Fatawa Hindiyyah – Chapter of Water – Second Part, regarding that which with it Wudhu is impermissible.}

Regarding your nose, it only becomes impure if the very effected phlegm reaches it completely. This happens by the phlegm travelling up the throat into your nose and down, it will not become impure by the phlegm sitting in your throat only.
