Question:

1. When air/gas about to leak, I hold it and try to take it inside. Will my wudhu nullify?

2. At times when I stop air/gas, while stopping and taking inside I hear sound. Will my wudhu breaks?

3. Some times I feel something erect from my penis. When I see I find nothing. It is possible that it might be some air (gas) got leaked. Is leakage of air from penis is correct? Will I have to perform wudhu again if it occurs?

Answer:

Bismillah

Anything that exists from the front and back passage nullifies wudu except the air, which comes out from the front passage (of a female). (Raddul Muhtar p.263 v.1)

The Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) has said, “The prayer of none of you will be accepted if he breaks wind, until he performs wudu.” (Sahih Bukhari)

If one is certain that he has passed wind even a small amount of gas irrespective of whether he heard the sound or smelled the wind, his wudu will break. (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.8 v.1)

With regards to the hadith concerning the breaking of wudhu by passing wind, Abbas Bin Tamim narrates that my uncle asked the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) about a person who imagined to have passed wind during the prayer. The Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) replied, “He should not leave his prayer unless he hears sound or smells something.” (Sahih Bukhari p.25 v.1)

The aforementioned hadith means that unless one is certain that one has broken one’s wudu, wudu remains intact. Therefore the conclusion we can come to is that if you are certain that you have passed gas, without doubts, then your wudu is broken, even where this would happen without sound or smell. (Fathul Bari p.300 v.1)

Keeping the aforementioned information in mind, holding the wind does not break the wudhu. Similarly, whilst holding if you hear a sound coming from the belly that will also will not break your wudhu.

Regarding the third question, as mentioned above wind from the front private part dopes not break wudhu.
