Question:
A person married his late nana’s second wife. How should they go about ending it?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
It is not permissible for a man to marry his grandmother (grandfather’s wife) (Badai Al Sanai, Vol 3, Pg 407) (1)
When ending a marriage, one should be kind and graceful. “…separate ˹from her˺ with grace…” (2:229). (2) He should explain the situation to her (that the marriage is invalid) and speak to a local Mufti to help him.

يحرم علي الرجل امه بنص الكتاب و هو قوله تعالي حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَّهَـٰتُكُمْ و تحرم عليه جداته من قبيل بيه و امه و ان علون بدلالة النص

ٱلطَّلَـٰقُ مَرَّتَانِ فَإِمْسَاكٌۢ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحٌۢ بِإِحْسَـٰنٍۢ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَأْخُذُوا۟ مِمَّآ ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّآ أَن يَخَافَآ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَا فِيمَا ٱفْتَدَتْ بِهِۦ تِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَعْتَدُوهَا وَمَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
