Question:
A woman committed adultery during her iddah. Did doing adultery affect the validity of her iddah?
This happened several years ago. The woman has now repented. Can she now remarry? Islamically is her divorce finalized? Was her divorce affected by this horrible act?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
There’s no Iddat for a Zaniah (a woman who committed adultery), according to Imam Abu Hanifa R.A. (1)
The previous divorce is valid and finalized.
She is free to remarry, and her future marriage will be valid.
Only Allah knows best.
