Question:
Were Holy Prophet SAW 's parents Muslim?
Will they enter Jannah ?
Answer:
Regarding the prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) parents there are three views:
- They passed away as disbelievers but were then raised again and accepted Islam after the Prophet (pbuh) received Prophethood.
- They passed away as disbelievers but won’t get punished due to the Prophet (pbuh) not receiving Prophethood at that time.
- They were the followers of the Prophet Ibrahim (as) so they already knew the forbidding of worshipping idols or anything else besides Allah. They were also aware of a Prophet to come in the near future and had firm intention to follow and believe in him.
However, in these issues the practice of the salaf has been to remain silent. (Mazaahirul haqq p.478 v.2)
