Question:

Can the Qurbani be done after the Maghrib prayer?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

The offering of a sacrifice known as Qurbani/Udhiyah is one of the rituals of Islam mentioned in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

Allah says: “Therefore, turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only)”[1]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever offers a sacrifice after the prayer, has completed his rituals (of Eid) and has followed the way of the Muslims.”[2]

Imam Qudoori mentions: “The time of Udhiyah starts with the entry of true dawn on the day of Nahr (10thDhulHijjah). It is permissible over three days, the day of Nahr and on the two days after.”[3]

In Al-Ikhtiyar it is mentioned that “it is permissible to offer the sacrifice during the day of eid and the night.”[4]

Therefore, offering the sacrifice after maghrib on the day of Eid is permissible.
