Assalamu alaikum,
Is it okay to keep the name Subhan?
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
The word ‘Subhan’ is not an individual word. It must be connected to another word in the Arabic language. It is a word that glorifies, and attributes perfection to the word it is attached to. This is why we say SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah). It is not permissible for any human to attribute this to himself or anything else.
