Question:
I often miss fajr namaz and one day I sat up very angrily and said if I miss fajr tomorrow I will pray 100 rakaat's now I don't even know how to pray 100 rakaats do I have to pray two first and then 2 till hundred?
Answer
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
There are two kinds of vow (Nadhr):
- Conditional vow, for example, one says: “If I recover from my illness, it will be obligatory upon me to do certain worship for the pleasure of Allah.” When this condition is found that act of worship will become obligatory.
- Absolute or unconditional vow; in this case, one says without any conditions: “I make a vow for the pleasure of Allah to offer two rakaats Salah.” As soon as he makes this vow, it becomes obligatory to perform it.
Regarding your question due to the condition (missing fajr tomorrow) being found the act of worship (100 rakaats) will become obligatory. The way to determine the rakaats is that you will pray 2 rakaats each all they till you reach 100 rakaats it can be done in 4 rakaats aswell, also you can perform the 100 rakaats over a period of time; one does not have to pray them all at once.
Only Allah knows best.
