Is a husband allowed to make orgasm by his wife by fondling, rubbing, stimulating, licking the clitoris of the vagina and the anus and its area (provided it is done with hygiene) ?

Is a husband allowed to insert his fingers in the vagina and anus of his wife?

Answer

It is permissible to touch, stroke and fondle the genitals of ones spouse.  All these fall under the act of foreplay, which is an important part of sexual intercourse.  Imam Ibn Qayim (RA) mentions that Saaiduna Jabir Ibn Abdullah Radiallahu Anhu is reported to have said, “The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam forbade from engaging in sex before foreplay.”   (Al-Tibb Nabawi p.181)

Saaiduna Anas Ibn Malik Radiallahu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said ‘none of you would come to his wife like an animal; but rather there should be between them a messenger.  It was said, “What is the messenger O Prophet of Allah?” He replied “Kissing and words” ’ (Imam Ghazali in his Ihya Ulumud Din and Imam Daylami in his Musnadul Firdaws)

It is stated in Fatawa Hindiyyah that Imam Abu Yusuf (RA) said ‘ “I asked Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) regarding a man who strokes his wife’s vagina and she strokes his penis in order that he get an erection, do you see any wrong in that?” He replied, “No, rather I am confident that one will be rewarded for doing so.” ’  (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.328 v.5)

Moreover, it is permissible for the husband to insert his fingers in his wife’s vagina so that she may reach orgasm and likewise for the wife to use her hands to masturbate her husband.   (Raddul Muhtar p.371 v.3)

Anal sex is something, which is prohibited in Islam.

Saaiduna Ibn Abbas Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallahu Alahi Wasalam has said:

“Allah does not look at a man who comes to a man or to a woman through its back.”

(Sunan Tirmizi p.220 v.1)

From the above we can deduce that it is unlawful and sinful for the husband to penetrate into his wife’s anus. Similarly, it is unlawful for the husband to insert his fingers into his wife’s anus as well. However, it is permissible for him to touch the surrounding and outside area of the anus, even to the point of rubbing his penis in between her buttocks or groin as long as there is no penetration into the anus.  (Islamic Guide to Sexual Relations p.96)
