What is Razaail?

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

Razaail are the vile characteristics, which are found in the inner self of man. The razaail in a man can be anger, sexual urge or niggardliness. These traits are instinctive. Allah (SWA) has given man these traits so that he can use them correctly. If a man were not to get angry then how would he protect himself, his wife, children and property?

The razaail are inborn and it is impossible to get rid off. However we can make them feeble and unharmful. We can crush them up so that their position is removed and no longer dangerous. (Spiritual Discourses- Mufti Taqi Uthmani p.37)
