Question:
What is the size of dirham in cm? I have searched a lot, but I didn’t understand clearly. So please tell me in cm.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
It is written in Kanz ul Daqaiq:
And forgiven is the size of a dirham which is the width of the palm from a major impurity (Najasat Ghaleeza) such as blood, alcohol, chicken faeces, urine of animals which are not allowed to eat, and dung; and forgiven is that which is less than a quarter of a garment from a minor impurity, such as the urine of animals that we are allowed to eat, the urine of a horse, and faeces of a bird that we are not allowed to eat and the blood of fish and saliva of mule and donkey and urine that stop on the point of the needle.” [i]
In short, the width of your palm is the size of a dirham.
Only Allah knows best.
