Question:

Is Escargot halal?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Escargots are not permissible as they have been classified as ‘khabaa’ith’ impure like insects.

“O ye who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you, and render thanks to Allah if it is (indeed) He whom ye worship” [ Surah Baqarah v.172]
