Question:
Salaam I want to know is water alone enough to remove najasah from my body. Is using soap a requirement In the sharia? Our body naturally becomes oily and if najasah falls on these parts and I just use water alone to wash is this enough to become pure? For example I wash the part by rubbing ( I can feel the oily textured once water touches it) without soap would this be sufficient for removing the najasah? I feel Using soap is difficult for me after washing manny times often the traces of soap remain on my hands. If these traces do remain after washing with water is it impure ? I saw in a fatwa that stated soap is not needed to remove najis and water alone will be enough and after washing with water to the best of your ability if any traces remain this is pure ? Is this correct. If it is not correct then what should I do since I have been following this and been washing my whole body with water only would this mean my self and everything around me is impure?

Answer:
The Fatwa you saw is correct. There is no requirement to use soap when washing. Washing three or more times with water until the impurity is removed is sufficient [1]. If one washes using water and soap such that soap traces remain, they will not be impure unless they contain visible impurity.
