Qurbani for Pilgrims
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
Answer
After the Rami of the Jamaratul Uqbah on the 10th of Zil Hijjah, one should make Qurbani. This is mustuhub for the Mufrid and wajib for the Qarin and Mutamatti. This is the first Qurbani. On top of that a pilgrim, who has wealth equivalent to the Nisaab, is liable to perform another Qurbani as long as one has made the intention of staying in Makkah for a period of fifteen days. However, it is not necessary to perform this Qurbani in Mina or Makkah. If it is done at one’s hometown it will be fulfilled. (Kitabul Hajj p.61)
