Someone said, “I let you go.” Is this Talaq Baain?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A talaq Ba’in is constituted by a vague phrase stated by the husband with the intent of divorce. An example of this is like “You are free from me.” If the husband had said “I let you go” with the intention of divorce, then yes, it will constitute a Talaq Ba’in. However, if the wife said to her husband, “Give me a divorce,” and he responded by saying, “I let you go,” then this will be a Talaq Raji’ (revocable).
