Question:
Assalamualaikum wrwb respected Mufti Sahib.
When saying salaam at the end of salah, does the tashahud finger go down at the same time or is it supposed to remain bent?
JazakaAllah khair.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
The tashhahud finger should be raised when saying ‘Ash-hadu’ and then immediately lowered or bent after saying ‘illallah’. The above position remains the case up until an individual reaches the salam.
Also note that, in general, there is no specific action of the finger connected to the salam.
Only Allah ﷻ knows best.
