Question:
I wanted to ask about a situation related to Hajj. My friend and her husband will be going for Hajj, Insha’Allah. Her husband has a medical condition which requires him to wear special socks. He will be wearing these socks and trainers throughout the five days of Hajj. The only time he removes them is when he goes to sleep.
Will he be required to give a dam for each day, or will one dam be sufficient for the entire duration?

Answer:
If the socks or trainers extend above the ankle, then he may wear them but will be required to give one Dam once his Hajj is complete. He can take them off at night provided he does so with the intention of putting them back on again in the morning [1].
