Wetness felt after inserting the finger into a dry pus wound

CategoriesTaharah [480]

Assalamualikum, Mufti sahab I have Ottomycosis (fungal infection of ear in which pus is formed in ears) so pus drains from my ear when it is severe but when it gets better pus doesn’t come out of ear (in the area which is washed in wadhu) but when I insert my finger into ear it gets a bit wet. So please tell what is ruling of wadhu for me in both of these situations

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

If anything impure such as blood or pus flows from a wound, or it comes out with enough force to flow but was prevented from flowing because it was wiped or absorbed by a bandage, then wudhu will break. Flowing in the aforementioned ruling means to flow beyond its point of exit from a wound.

Pus that appears on the body surface without it exiting will not break the wudhu. (Ahsanul Fatawa p.28 v.2 & Raddul Muhtar p.260 v.1)

With regards to your question, as the pus is not flowing then by placing your finger in that area and the subsequent wetness you feel thereafter, will not break your wudhu.
