Question:

Assalamualaikum

What is the ruling on praying during sickness like high fever, in Islam?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Answer:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh,

Prayer in Islam should never be left out under any circumstances. As long as the person has the ability to pray, he has to pray. If the person cannot stand then he can sit down and pray and make his ruku while sitting and go down for the sajdah. He should make the ruku in such a way that his forehead aligns with his knees.

If someone is so ill that he cannot do ruku or sajdah, he should make them by gestures, and bow down a little further for the sajdahs.[1]

And Allah SWT alone knows best.
