Zakat from prize bonds

Answer

In an earlier fatwa I have written that prize bonds are impermissible. Zakat will be obligatory on the amount you paid for the bonds, but, there will be no zakat on the money received from the prize bonds as this is haraam. (Jadeed Fiqhi Masaail p.216 v.1)
