Question:

I am 30 years old and I am getting marriage in coming month, I am having problem of discharge when I talk to my would be wife, discharge seems to like crystal clear and little bit thick and my fiance also having same problem. First of all I want to know that there is any problem with both us and ghusal is necessary for both. If ghusal is necessary then how to take ghusal according to sunnah.

Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحي

There are three types of discharges;

  1. Madhi (pre-coital fluid), is a thin clear liquid which is discharged at the time of arousal without ejaculation. This necessitates Wudu on emission.
  2. Wadhi is a white cloudy thick fluid which has no smell and is discharged either before or after urinating. This necessitates Wudu on emission.
  3. Mani (sperm) is a white thick fluid which is discharged at the time of ejaculation. This necessitates Ghusl on emission.

(Hashiah Tahtawi pg: 100)

From the above mentioned we can conclude that only Mani necessitates Ghusl on emission and that’s only at the time of ejaculation so regarding your question ghusl would not be necessary upon you nor your fiancé and doing Wudu on emission would suffice. Also I would recommend you both to go to your local GP (general practitioner) for they may prescribe to you a remedy.

Only Allah knows best.
