Question:

Is there a hadith on if you feed a person, you get the reward for their ibadat?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It was narrated from Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (Ra) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.” (Sunan ibn Majah, 1746)

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (Ra) narrated: The Prophet ﷺ said: “Associate only with a believer, and let only a God-fearing man eat your meals.” (Abu Dawood, 4832; Tirmidhi, 2395)

By feeding a God-fearing man, a person would be energising him to worship. If a person helps another in doing good, he also gets the reward of that doing good, even if he himself did not do it (Ihdaadud Deebaajah, Pg 406)
