Question:
I want to know if a person after getting married and having paid the mahr that was mutually agreed. Can a man give extra mahr to his wife and having the idea to give mahr fatimi?

Answer:
Mahr (dowry) is the right of the wife and is something which both spouse can agree upon. The minimum mahr is 10 dirham and there is no limit to the maximum.
However one should not ask an exorbitant amount. It should be something easy and that which the spouse can afford to give.
After a Nikah, the husband cannot change the mahr unless with mutual agreement. It can increase or decrease if the wife agree to it.
Therefore if the husband wants to give extra or change the mahr to the mahr fatimi, it will be fine with the consent of the wife.

(قَالَJ وَلَوْ تَزَوَّجَهَا عَلَى مَهْرٍ مُسَمًّى ثُمَّ زَادَ فِيهِ جَازَتْ الزِّيَادَةُ إنْ دَخَلَ بِهَا أَوْ مَاتَ عَنْهَا إلَّا عَلَى قَوْلِ زُفَرَ – رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى – أَصْلُهُ الزِّيَادَةُ فِي الثَّمَنِ بَعْدَ الْعَقْدِ، وَهِيَ مَسْأَلَةُ الْبُيُوعِ، وَدَلِيلُنَا لِجَوَازِ الزِّيَادَةِ هُنَا لِقَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا تَرَاضَيْتُمْ بِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ الْفَرِيضَةِ} [النساء: ٢٤] مَعْنَاهُ مِنْ فَرِيضَةٍ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ، وَلَوْ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ الدُّخُولِ بِهَا بَطَلَتْ الزِّيَادَةُ إلَّا فِي قَوْلِ أَبِي يُوسُفَ الْأَوَّلِ، وَقَدْ بَيَّنَّاهُ
