Question:
Does anyone have any research on whether a female muqtadi could correct the imam in tarawih salah if only mahrams are present?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
We are not familiar with any research paper concerning whether a female muqtadi can correct the imam in taraweeh salah if only mahrams are present.
However, the answer to the question is the following:
A female muqtadi can verbally correct the Imam if the Imam is her mahram and the other male muqtadis are also her from her marahim.
However, if the Imam is not her mahram nor are the other males from her maharim, then she should clap to inform the Imam that he’s made a mistake.[1]
In almost all cases, those directly behind the Imam are appointed to correct him should he make a mistake in taraweeh salah, and hence, there is no need for a female muqtadi to correct the Imam.

وَقد قَامَ الْإِجْمَاع على أَن سنة الرجل إِذا نابه شَيْء فِي الصَّلَاة التَّسْبِيح وَإِنَّمَا اخْتلفُوا فِي النِّسَاء فَذَهَبت طَائِفَة إِلَى أَنَّهَا تصفيق وَهُوَ ظَاهر الحَدِيث وَبِه قَالَ إِسْحَاق وَالشَّافِعِيّ وَأَبُو ثَوْر وَهُوَ رِوَايَة عَن مَالك حَكَاهَا ابْن شعْبَان عَنهُ وَهُوَ مَذْهَب النَّخعِيّ وَالْأَوْزَاعِيّ وَذهب آخَرُونَ إِلَى أَنَّهَا تَسْبِيح وَهُوَ قَول مَالك وَتَأَول أَصْحَابه قَوْله ” إِنَّمَا التصفيق للنِّسَاء ” أَنه من شأنهن فِي غير الصَّلَاة فَهُوَ على وَجه الذَّم فَلَا تَفْعَلهُ الْمَرْأَة وَلَا الرجل فِي الصَّلَاة وَيَردهُ مَا ورد فِي حَدِيث حَمَّاد بن زيد عَن أبي حَازِم فِي بَاب الْأَحْكَام بِصِيغَة الْأَمر ” فليسبح الرِّجَال وليصفق النِّسَاء ” وَإِنَّمَا كره لَهَا التَّسْبِيح لِأَن صَوتهَا فتْنَة وَلِهَذَا منعت من الْأَذَان والإمامة والجهر بِالْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الصَّلَاة
