Question:

Assalamu Alaikum. I hope this message finds you well. I live with ocd and and nite down many questions through out the day if I have committed and kufr and when I write them I usually determine that it is not kufr.

I need help with another event that happened yesterday. Sometimes my anger gets uncontrollable like in an on/off state because I try to control it.

I had uncontrolled anger towards two family members, and I rubbed arm with bed I was lying in, in anger for 2-3 seconds while having a blasphemous thought. Not even a thought. A feeling.

(I have similar thoughts through out the day though without the anger so I can ultimately ignore them)

It does not seem anger at Allah. Na’u’zubillah in a normal sense.

I have forgotten the whole feeling and cannot dare to remember it. I am ashamed of it because I shouldn’t be angry at such small things and it should never get directed towards Allah (SWT). But I don’t know if it’s a a hallucination or actual anger Na’u’zubillah.

Just before this I had delayed Salah because I struggling. Mind was changing fast both in Salah and in here.

I sometimes feel intense bodily pressure or mental pressure to do blasphemous things.

I think I had stopped my arm it could have gotten worse

Also when it happened I kind of gave in like I was almost forced. But it was a choice.

Saying all this makes it sound like it wasn’t kufr like I am actually sick. And this was just the disease

But the anger felt uncontrollable. And there is no excuse for anger. Though if you ask me now I don’t have anger or resentment towards anyone. So that means I wasn’t actually angry?

Like there is no real reason for me.

Please give me a clear ruling on what I did.

And what are the actions of kufr for a person like me?

Jazakallah.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

A Muslim only leaves the fold of Islam if they reject a fundamental belief or obligatory action of Islam [1].

From your words it would appear you have only felt a brief moment of anger, which is entirely permissible and excused particularly given your difficulties, and it is praiseworthy that you knew immediately to control it [2].

No action of Kufr has been committed, and it is better that you try not to dwell on actions that may constitute Kufr and instead try your best to focus on performing as many good deeds as you can.

Nevertheless, it is important that you seek professional help with the issues that you are currently experiencing from a local scholar or mental health specialist.

Only Allah ﷻ knows best.
