Question:
If I’m doing hajje badal, do I perform two qurbanis?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
If a person is performing Hajj Badal on behalf of someone else, the rulings of Hajj apply in the same way as if the Hajj were being performed for oneself.
If the Hajj being performed is Hajj Tamattu or Hajj Qiran, then one sacrifice (Qurbani) is required as part of the Hajj rites. This sacrifice is connected to the Hajj itself and is performed for the Hajj being carried out on behalf of the person.
This sacrifice counts for the Hajj and there is no requirement to perform a second sacrifice specifically because it is Hajj Badal.
Therefore, a person performing Hajj Badal does not perform two qurbanis for the Hajj itself.
