Question:

A woman inserts an IUD and begins bleeding for more than 3 days. It is past 15 days of Tuhr, but it is not her Aadah to have her Haidh then. Will this be Istihadhah or Haidh?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

First of all, may Allah ﷻ make things easy, one may understand such a time may cause some concern though we should remember inshallah all difficulties will pass with time inshallah.

As for the question, please normally note the insertion of an IUD is not one that can do by oneself and exposing the awrah unnecessarily is not allowed. However, in this case where it has already been done and is bleeding for more than 3 days, if it is sure to be from the wound then it is not considered hayd, otherwise if it falls in her normal time then one would consider it hayd. To be clear, the normal rule outside the current situation is, if it is not from the wound and the time of Tuhur has passed, then the place of hayd can still change even from the next time.

Thus, the ruling depends on the time, habit and certainty for the particular person involved.
