Question:
I think I suffer from a yeast infection, so I always have discharge. However, I’m not sure whether I qualify as a ma‘zoor because it is not continuous, although I experience it frequently. I do not know exactly when it stops, but it occurs during every prayer time.
This is worrying me because I do not know how to pray properly, especially as I do not have much time due to school (particularly for Dhuhr and Asr). Also, do I have to wear a pad and change it at every prayer time to keep my underwear clean and purify myself, or can I simply sprinkle water on it instead?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
It’s understandable to be overwhelmed with such concerns. It is distressing to deal with such concerns when confused regarding the Fiqh of the matter. Discharge will invalidate the wudhu. As you do not find yourself continuously discharging for the duration of Salah time, you will not be considered Ma’dhoor. Whenever you discharge, you will have to do wudhu to for Salah.
If you do become Ma’dhoor, through continuous discharge for the duration of one salah time, you may do wudhu for each prayer time only. With the wudhu of a Ma’dhoor, they may pray as many Salawat as they like in that Salah time.
You will only have to change a sanitary pad if the impurity on it exceeds the size a 50p coin, if it does not you will not have to change it. This means that the are covered on the sanity pad with impurity, if it exceeds a 50p coin size, then you will not be able to pray with it on.
A suggestion to manage the Salawat with the issue is to pray Zuhr at its end time and Asr at its beginning time so you may pray them without having to do wudhu in between.
