Question:
Some people together sent money to Gaza. Money went from Canada to Bangladesh (converted to bd currency). From Bangladesh to Dubai (converted to Dubai currency). Then from Dubai to Gaza. Once is Gaza money was 8% less and upon inquiry, it was found that the Dubai agent took it as a transfer cost. The original sender did not know of this fee.
Question: does Zakaat still have to be given for the amount of 8% because it did not go to the deserving people?

Answer:
Zakah must be delivered in its entirety to those in need [1]. The transfer cost for Zakah money cannot be taken out of the Zakah itself [2]. Thus, if this 8% deducted was part of the Zakah money then they must each repay 8% of the amount they gave in Zakah.
