Question:
If a person is travelling and he is unsure if he will be there for 15 or not?
(A matter of hours depending on which train he can catch) What should he do?

Answer:
According to the Hanafi school of thought, adherence to certain rules is required. An individual must offer full prayers and attain the status of a muqim (resident) if they are certain of staying at their destination for at least 15 full days (nights).
Conversely, if an individual remains uncertain about the duration of their stay or if their stay depends on external factors (such as the availability of transportation), they may continue to shorten the 4-rakat prayers to 2 rakat and maintain the status of musafirs (travellers).
Therefore in your situation, you will continue to read the travellers prayer until certainty is established. [2]
