Question:
How does a Muslim humble himself for the sake of Allah SWT so that Allah SWT raises him in this world and in the hereafter?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
To humble oneself before Allah is one of the greatest ways to attain proximity with Allah Ta’ala. To attain humility is to accept the truth from wherever it comes, to not consider oneself greater than others for any reason, and to treat all with respect and kindness. The opposite of humility is arrogance and pride. The elimination of arrogance and pride is adoption of humility.
It’s a constant effort a person makes throughout their life. It is not a one-time effort. A person is always battling their ego and emotions in pursuit of humility. The easiest way to adopt humility is to always maintain a conscious effort of being kind and respectful of others and not discriminating in doing so.
